The lastest video from Miley Cyrus is growing on me. When I first saw it, I thought to myself: "Oh, look. It's the prerequisite Not A Little Girl Anymore video from a former teen pop diva trying to show the world how grown up and fierce she is".
You have to admit, the video's a little strange. From gawky teen Hannah Montana star (who I totes loved, obvs) to rebel slash punk rocker chick, it's quite a change. I love the new hairdo. It's short, sharp and much funkier on her than long flowing locks. And that girl rocks a red lip like it's no-one's business.
The song is catchy and I think it's probably going to become one of my favourites this spring/summer. It's a funky party vibe with loads of catchy "eh eh eh"s (technical term). The more I watch, the more she reminds me of a younger Madonna. More edgy than sexy, less rebelling-for-the-sake-of-it and more coming into her own. I think the video reflects who she is now more than any of her previous work.
Nice one, Miley.
